Rendezvous with Rama · Arthur C. Clarke, 1973

How strong is gravity inside Rama?

0.6g

About 0.6 g on the plain, falling to zero on the axis. It comes from Rama spinning once every four minutes.

From the bookReal world

There is no real gravity in Rama, only spin. Stand on the inside of the cylinder and it presses you outwards at about 0.6 g. Go up towards the axis and that fades to nothing.

Jimmy Pak uses this. At zero g a pedal-powered sky-bike is enough, so he flies Dragonfly straight down the axis, over the sea, towards the Big Horn. Then lightning arcs between the horns and the shock wave wrecks it.
